hard-earned birthday present

Who would travel 4 hrs at an average speed of 100km/hr to cover 310km to get a glimpse of his birthday present?

My dearest hubby....

From Brisbane to Hervey Bay.... 4hrs of road trip up north.... at 100km/hr.... distance covered 310km....
time spent with birthday present - 1.5hrs

it is not a gift to be kept but one to be remembered.... the short span of time spent with the huge mystical creature was definitely worth the drive.

Whales - especially Mother Whales would travel 120,000 miles from Antarctica to warmer climate countries e.g. Australia to breed. With their newborn calves, they would feed, guide and protect their babies back and that is another 120,000 miles back. The cycle will repeat again.

nevertheless, it is a good reason to take a break from work... breathe in some fresh air... appreciate the works of Mother Nature... and spend the birthday of my loved one in a special way..

It is such a fulfilling trip back home this time round....

I get to spend more quality time with my loved ones, despite of the tight schedule and running overtime till wee hours almost every other night.
I get to introduce a new "money-earning" game to the younger kids (remember ah, dun indulge too much into the game... its very bad... very very bad =p)
I get to enjoy meals which were paid by the younger ones again... i'm very proud and i must say that it is absolutely more enjoyable.
I get to see the horrifying appetide of the growing kids.... so scary!!! Feeding them is like feeding babies.... a meal every couple of hours....
I get to know Ms Song better.... no pressure babe.. take your time to know the rest of the family.
I get to meet up with the very important friends... sorry that it is only a couple of hours, even 0.5 hrs....
I get to touch the bloating tummy of HY.... sooooo exciting!!!! cant wait to see BB when i'm back...
I get to eat a handful of local food ... but there is never enough on such delicacy.

Most Importantly.... I get to spend some real good and quality time with my grands, parents, aunts and uncles....

it just feels good to be home..... realli..... =)

Giving advices and opinion and the shitload of “what is right and wrong”…

when will one know enough is enough? How does one draw their own definition of what is enough? does giving any lesser mean that one does not care or does giving excessive makes one the most passionate person on earth? How does one know when to stop?

It all started last night during fishing when felix commented on his mate whose gf took nude or artistic pictures and had it posted on the web, followed by his theory of her elders who should have corrected such indecency actions. We ended up into a prolonged debate on who, how, which, what and why the younger ones should listen and take up their elders’ advices and opinions., even though they might not favour it.

This got me thinking…

In my opinion, if my loved ones were to do something which is ethnically and morally wrong, as an elder, I will provide the necessary advices and opinions over and over again and correct their actions when call for. However, I feel that ultimately, decision is up to them. We are talking about human beings, possibly teenagers who are at the age which they can think and decide, even though if their decision is made stubbornly and foolishly, to adults who could equally make the wrong moves.

We can only be “doctors” or “nurses” for so long – provide the right advices and medication – as to, whether the patient will consume the medicine, it is up to them.

I know a person personally whom betrayed her family in every possible way. Financially, morally, mentally and emotionally and we are talking about real damage made to her parents and siblings. I am very certain that the more experienced ones around her would have given overly-sufficient advices and directions and corrections. Yet, time and time again, her act of betrayal never stops and that was her decision. Of course, for the rest of her family members, they were left feeling beaten. For some, they had to clean up her damage and mess. However, if there comes one day, she were to return to the family and repent on her mistake sincerely, I am sure they will make up.

You can give all your advices and encouragements. You can provide the right directions. But at the end of the day, if the person does not take up your advice or directions and decides to go against it, what you need next is not anger and the attitude of “See, I told you so!”, BUT nothing except for the willingness to forgive and accept on what the person has done wrong.

let's see... i was up to Mt Tambourine recently when fran's friends came for a visit....

it was a pretty sunny day when we went so all "kinds" of shades would be necessary, even if it meant to sacrifice another person.. hee hee

dun ask me why... i'm not sure if maple leaves had smell...

i saw this girl who was as tall as a two storey building... SERIOUSLY!!! the only catch,... she is not a real girl... =p

Purpose : Weekly grocery shopping

it was one of those occasional trips to open-air markets. rows and rows of 3m x 3m gazebos are set up by the walkway and within them, stall owners will put their self-exclaimed fresh produce or cheapest buy. patrons will flock in and flood up the pathway, making walking a task. however, maneuvering around people, pets and trolleys become a life-saving skill for the quick exit.

Purpose : In celebration of sherwin's early "i am forever 21 yrs old" birthday (pfffttttt)

each household brought a couple of food items for the grilling... simple maths calculation : there are 5 households... 5 multiply by 2 gives you 10... and yes, we had almost 10 different food from beef, chicken wings, pork, sushi, beehoon, ribs etc etc etc. by the 2nd hr into the bbq, most of us had our arms around our tummy and surrendering our white flag to "God of Fulless".

it was one of our friend's daughter's 2nd birthday... on this special night, the little girl was a princess. it was all about the attention, love, gifts, toys, two-tier birthday cake and the money which her parents spent in celebration of her big day... this got me thinking....

what can you remember about your childhood?

is it the bears, dolls, cars, guns and etc which you had accumulated over the many birthdays and shopping trips that it came to a point that you needed a storeroom, instead of a store cupboard?

is it those times where the 0.5" thick wooden cane slashed deeply onto your skin and thereafter, leaving a red and swollen line? in order to avoid receiving such "premium" treatments, you lied through your teeth and promised that you would behave like an angel. however, as soon as your "disciplinary master" turned her back, you stuck out your tongue, made a monkey face and moved on to the next mischievous act.

is it your tears - which you know that once you started to cry, that people around you would give in and do all their might just to stop that water tap from running?

is it the innocent thoughts and actions that you would show to your parents, by hugging them, tugging their tops and asking for forgiveness whenever you made a mistake?

i don't know about you... but for me....

i will not change my childhood for anything.

bizarre.

in times like this where everyone, every trade and every business is screaming for financial help, there is one industry that perhaps might survive silently - the red-light industry or the forbidden-fruit industry or the "meat" industry... i attended SEXPO today and it was just CROOOOWDED and JAM-PACKED with human... it was like a super huge adult store with live performances of nudity....

but what caught my attention was this man who used his ***k to do art... imagine, soaking the manhood into acrylic paint and enduring the raw sensation of rubbing against rough texture like artboard... yikes!! the feeling must not be good... things people do for living...

nostalgic.

First wave of nostalgic feeling was all because of a duck.

to fully enjoy a well-cooked duck, one must make use of all five sensors and that was what i did.

hear - within a short span of 12 mins, fran asked this question several times "geraldine, do you want to eat the duck now? it may not seem alot as you read but imagine that happening again and again and again... with that, my hearing sent a signal to my brain and decoded her message "DUCK IS GOOOOOD... FASTER EAT!!!!"
sight - the full rosewood colour on the skins denote that the duck was cooked till perfect timing. any shorter, it will be pale but any longer, it will be too dark.
touch - the sprinnnnnngy feel as i depressed my fingers into the meat.. one word "NOICE".
smell - the roasted ducky fragrant... well, let's just say that it is beyond words.
taste - the moment i brought the drumstick close to my mouth, i could feel that my salivary glands were accumulating. as my teeth sank into the meat, there was just one thing that registered in my mind... "FWAH!!!! Damn good la!!!! Thank you Captain Nua... this is the closest thing to the 93.3 roast duck!!"

second wave of nostalgic feeling came after we finished Chi Bi 2.

as my friends were switching from DVD to TV, something damn "homely" caught our ears... it was a short film called Haze, produced by our very own Singaporean. It revolved around two teenage Singaporeans who were talking in their extremely-complicated singlish while doing their gig. So, what is so complicated? we reckon that singaporean are the only rare group of people who can use at least two to three different languages in one sentence. For example, "So, 现在 how ah? 你 damn jalar la! how can so siao siao one?" It is really difficult to explain the excitement and amusement we derived from this Singapore short film. Let's put it in this way -

你要understand mah- after watching all the angmo show with the angmo accent for 很久, can hear the "la" and the "lor" is damn shiong hor!

addiction.

the story is about a boy who played some pranks on his friends and today, the prankster is my hubby.

He drove in circles around some roundabouts while ah tan and fan ge was following closely behind us. When i said circles, i really meant that he went around the roundabout a couple of time and the aim was to confuse ah tan. Plus, he "purplely" stopped in front of the traffic light and refused to go until it turned amble which also would trap ah tan from moving off... the best bit is, ah tan took the "bait" and played along too.

making pranks on friends is something that i normally would not tolerate but i didnt stop him. one thing that i am sure - hubby was a careful driver. the more important thing was, he chuckled like a little boy and that laughter was just simply an addiction...

i just love it.

Fran's Brithday

so it all started with a simple dinner and some beers at the German Club....

And so... we went on our separate ways after dinner (around 10pm), pretending that it was all for the night. Again and obviously, Fran had no idea what was installed for her....

Four hours later.... some of us sent off to Sherwood... YAWN!!!!!! it was bloody 130am.....zzzzzzz

We STOMPED into her room and TADAH!!!! she was caught by SURPRISE!!!! and what was her reaction??
"WHAT THE FUCK!!!! SHIT SHIT!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! 非礼啊!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"
(I'm sorry fran but your reaction is just classic... since there is no video to show it, i'll just have to put them into words.... =p)

so, off we went for Byron Bay in a tarago....

we struggled with food and chairs and stuff ....

waited and waited for sunrise... fran attempted to sing for us.... -shivers-

feeling was quite nice at breakfast... nice scenery... nice food .... a group of good frnz....

naturally, after feeding on the calories, we decided to "kill off" by doing trek-walking. before we set off, a photo to show that we were in one good happy piece....

by the time we reached the foot of the mountain, some of us were just.. err... out of breathe?

1. You were kept in suspense of the entire operation.

2. You were told that the boys were just having some gaming session while we did shopping but when in actual fact, they took the opportunity to duck out and collect the car.

3. You were made to believe we would just have the battling with Pork Knuckles as your birthday celebration.

4. You were asked to relieve yourself in the toilet while we had the chance to inform your friend that Yum Cha was cancelled due to this surprise trip.

5. You believe that we would be having breakfast the next morning.

6. You left us believing all of the above.

7. You refused to rest and this caused some of us to halt our operation and had to feed the mozzies outside your house while waiting for you to enter slumberland.

8. You were taken by SURPRISE when you saw us STOMPED into your bedroom, screaming “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!” at bloody 2am.

9. You reacted in the way we expected “What the fuck! What the fuck!! Why are you guys doing here???? AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT”.. well, even thought that is not how a girl should react but because it is you, we sorta knew it.

10. You looked like you were in a mess but most importantly, you were happy like how all birthday girls should be.

do not belittle this bowl of fried rice.

you may think, "what's the big deal about fried rice?" all it takes is just 45 mins, some overnight cold rice, eggs, meat and sauce. if that is your thought, then it is so wrong.

it may be prepared in just 45 mins but every second of the preparation and the cooking counts. the amount of heat used during the cooking is important. if it is too cold, it will end up being soggy. if it is too hot, the heat will burn the rice and its ingredients and you will end up with a bowl of charcoal.

also, the chef's mind and strength is a core component... he has to be precise and creative in designing the perfect marination for the rice and meat... he needs to master and control his strength when beating the eggs and tossing of rice over the lightly oil pan...

finally, we examine the intention behind cooking the rice... it must be cooked with concentrated love and care. Not forgetting, it is the thought and action that brings this dish to its fullest flavor.

so this is no ordinary fried rice because...

it is a dish of love.

My latest hobby : to MIA from my blog (chuckles!!). well, in actual fact, I'm having some serious writer's block. Lots of thoughts but nothing seems to flow out of my finger pores... everything seems to stuck somewhere or evaporate into thin air. For today, my focus is on some belated stuffs....

have you ever wondered why life is such? or perhaps, considered what brought about the history of yesterday, the happenings of today and the possibilities of tomorrow? or even, queried why we are surrounded by a fascinating and yet unexplainable social behavior? What would you consider right and also, what is wrong? why are we always expecting and expecting and expecting, knowing that we will not get what we expect? Or, are we just born with such natural thirst of this never-ending expectation?

Or perhaps, in reality, such empty promises, denial, accusation, frustration, gossips are like peppercorns in a plate of delicious risotto. Without it, the dish has no spice and yet with it, the bite is awful and regretful.

Perhaps that is life.

I looked around everyday and observed that life is never only about happiness. There is sorrow, anger, anxiety, impatience, selfishness and lots of over-promising. “I promise i will do this and I promise I’ll do that” and it never happen, only to be equipped with an aftermath effort of endless excuses and load full of bullshits.

William Shakespeare once quoted, “Men should be what they seem”. In actual fact, in another quote, “People of the world don’t look at themselves and so, they blame others”

Perhaps human must learn to take a closer step and have a careful examination of the ugly reflection in the mirror. Perhaps human will, one day, remove their masks and live with their true self. Or perhaps,…

Human just never learn.

While the younger me faded silently into the mist of the past, the reflection in the mirror is crackling up with the truth. Self-motivation? Sure. The treadmill becomes my new best friend as it pushes my limits to race back to lost youth.

Such a profound and mystical feeling. Without it, Mother Earth would be dominated by self-centered creatures who think and act for themselves. Yet... with it, men crave for more and at times, forget the pureness of the feeling and take advantage of it.

Still, this is the invisible string that ties families and friends closely together.

Parents - Humans who yearn to strive hard in life, who are mentally abused by the harsh demand of reality, who shuffle and do the balancing act between work, themselves and children, who rush back in time just to read the final chapter of the bedtime story just to tuck the little ones into slumberland, who work hard to meet their children's needs. But when the little ones decide that maybe one day, they will leave their comfort zone to seek for a wider horizon and their adventures, parents - with much reluctance - will have to let them go.

Unconditional love.

I love my famillly who make tremendous efforts to get along with my new family and likewise, I love my new family who also make such heart-felt contributions. Even in my absence. Nothing means more to me than that. Of course, to my husband, who has to play a dual role to both families. I love you and I thank you.

My thoughts for 09 chinese new year

A time of celebration. A time for reunion. this year, celebration and reunion will be unique and an experience to remember. Friends become the closest thing to family. They are the main pillar for company and support. Never cross my mind that there will come a day that i have to spend cny away from my loved ones. well, there is always a first time to everything, anything.

I have been thinking - you never know what you will miss till you lose it. Its always easier to say and nag that one must appreciate one's surroundings and family. but it is when you are in the situation, you will truly appreciate what you have missed out.

Appreciation.

to all whom your parents are still around, I hope that in this new calendar year, you will learn to appreciate your family more. a little more respect. a little more understanding. a little more tolerance. a little more greetings. a little more time spend together. a little more love and care. even if there is a little more misunderstanding, it is alright. at least you are together. have to learn to appreciate because before you know it, maybe - you might not see them for a long time.

Looking out of SQ246's window, all I could see was a vast land of dazzling street lights - Singapore.

Home at last, I secretly sighed in relief and thoughts. It was not the variety of economical meals that I had missed, nor was the daily opening retail hours. I had learnt to cook for most of the days and appreciate other recreational activities than shopping as pasttime. So, what did I miss most?

Family. Nothing beats that.

Nothing beats the love when everyone was stuffing us with the local delights from touch-down to supper. Nothing beats the attention when granny began counseling on her life philosophic from Chapter 1. Nothing beats my truthful tears when my bro hugged me fiercely and I was reminded how I missed all these comfort. Home at last, I believe.

Fishing has become one of my "regular" pasttimes in Australia.
Although I'm constantly disappointed by my poor fishing skills, there are other things that kept me interested in the activity e.g. the sun, the hope of fishing a big one etc.

Anyway, we had another fishing trip yesterday at Tweed Head - day was just simply filled with the sun, the rain and non-stop laughter... good way to kill the weekend =)

I miss.... I remember how the hair of this person used to be so messy..... telling this person how a fly will die becoz it gets stuck in this loadful of "traps" on the head....
I miss.... the low and husky voice each time when i called....
I miss.... renting different animes and just rotting at home over sat nights to watch cartoon with this person....
I miss.....

I miss..... how this person will bug me each time "Jie, I want your special coffee mix.." and that I had to think of ways to ensure that the beverage was nicely frosted to this person's liking... and at the end, this person will say "no one does this drink better than you"....
I miss... the different PS RPG games that i played with this person and how we would "strategize" who to train the characters and who to kill the boss.....
I miss.... how this person will always be subtly around for me... not in the loudest fashion but i know this person is there... always

I miss.... how this person is always the caring one.... never fails to read the needs of others... always the first to be there with the intention to care...
I miss... the simplest and yet most sincere smile and pair of eyes whenever i see this person....
I miss... the kind of energy this person gives to the ideas I have... always supportive... always there....

I miss... the noise that this person would made every morning with the hairdryer and how this person would amuse me with the amount of time spent in front of the mirror with the appearance... and when I don't hear the kind of noise now, I miss....

I miss... the efforts that this person put in to be the "leader of the pack" now that I'm not around....

I miss... how this person would engage me in evening jogs and heavy dinners and cheekyly said that it is alright to have sinful dinners because we did our exercise....
I miss... how this person accompanied me during the busiest time of my work life.... and vice versa...

Then we continued with "drinking game"....

Article 2 of "Australia (Brisbane/Sydney) Tour Group Fun & Laughter & Amazing Race"

On 7 June 2008, 4 "very not bad looking" & "pretty eligible" chaps joined in for the Australia (Brisbane/Sydney) Tour Group Fun & Laughter & Amazing Race. Let's just call them, Eric, Andy, Ken & Quan.

According to some anoynomous sources, the boys didn't rest during the flight who were all busy watching the on-flight movies, playing the games, "beo-ing" at the Aussie air stewardess, gobbling up the food and consuming a disclosed reported amount of alcohol. Anyway, they went through the same routine as Mum and Dad. After touch down, they were brought back to the 5* home-apartment @ Coorparoo to pack up for an overnight stay at GoldCoast.

Interestingly, on the way back home, Drew received a sudden call from Mum. Conversation goes like this...

-background got a sharp BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP sound-

Mum (sounded panicky) : Harlo.. are you coming back already?
Drew (sounded curious) : Ya, we got the boys so driving back liao. Mum, what's that sound?
Mum (sounded even more panicky) : OORRH !!!!! ... it's the smoke detector... Dad fry prawn shrimps till got too much smoke and the detector went off...
-the beeping sound went off even louder-
Drew : Wah... just remove the detector and it should be ok.

-background still got the sharp BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP sound and noise indicating that someone was trying to pluck the device off from the ceiling and then, it went silence -

Mum : hahahhaa... we are frying some stuff for the soup but think we have attempted to wake up the whole neighbourhood. Hahahahahaa... ok liao.. see you in a while. Bye.

Oh, did I mention that the above happened at 8am on a Saturday Morning??

So, after having the very filling breakfast that almost woke up the whole town, we proceeded to GoldCoast....

Apologise for the long-awaited article of the "Australia (Brisbane/Sydney) Tour Group Fun & Laughter & Amazing Race". In commemoration such a fun & laugther trip, selected photos have been chosen and edited to suit our viewers' reading at all age.

So, the journey started with two participants - couple who have married for a good 30 years.. and let's call them, Dad and Mum. As for the hosts of this journey, let's name them, Yun and Drew.

For the first day after Dad and Mum arrived, they were brought back to a 5* home-apartment @ Coorparoo for a rest. Obviously the flight was very tired cause Dad was snoring away during his sleep and mum was, again obviously, recovering from her over-dosage of sleeping pills which helped to overcome her fear for flying... -pant pant-. After which, they were brought to Southbank... jar-lan, jar-lan and THEN....

Caption : Knowing that dad does the "4D, TOTO" thingy in Singapore, Drew introduced him to POWERLOTTO in Brisbane. Healthy way of trying to earn extra bucks... = )

Caption : As shown, Dad wanna sound the bell and announce to the whole world.. I BOUGHT POWERLOTTO!!!!!!!!

Caption : Mum caught him and said, "Don't waste time la!! Take picture with Yun first"

Mum was also curious to find out the opportunities in Brisbane. So, at Sunshine Coast, she considered modelling for houseware...

Caption : This is an advertisement for married women who buy houseware but don't do housework.. = )

Another thing that we found out about Mum, she is not very "gung-ho". According to sources, she gave birth to two children (one girl and one boy) who had guts like a lion... Wonder what happened....

One final thing we discovered about our female lead, mum... she is SUPER UBER DUPER afraid of the cold... the minimum number of clothings that she had to wear was 4!! and if wherever possible, there must be a heater by her side...

I've learnt that there are alot of things which you need to DIY here to maximize costs of living.... like hv regular home-cooked meals, walk to the nearest facilities to get your grocery, play mahjong with just chips and no $$, turn house into a mini-lan game centre.......

Then again, it is nothing so discouraging as this is an excellent opportunity to finally get rid of my growing bulging eyebags which Eric had been complaining about. So what do I usually do in my activities?? Also, one word.

I have been experimentating on recipes based on information from purchased cookbooks, the world wide library and my distorted memory due to my engrossed worklife in my ex-company. With all the attempts that I made, for those successful ones, I will rewrite (or you can say, copy) them into the black book given by Ya Ting (the "Never say die, die, die, die, die" book). And what is my latest entry into this book. One word as well.

For those who are wondering if i will be gettin a woof woof in any near future, the answer is no... the reason is pretty simple after seeing what my friend went through.

Unless you own a house, if not, to find a rental house or apartment that is pet-friendly is not going to be easy. The apartment which I am staying currently doesn't permit pets. So i guess a woof woof is a no go.... and a pretty surprising conversation with my frnz is that rabbits are not very welcomed in this country for the fact that they populate fast and pretty environmental hazardous especially those wild rabbits...

however.... i do have a chance to "own" a "parttime" dog... may i introduce?!?!?!?!? -drum rolls-

in view of the traffic that will be coming over to brizzie during the hols plus the extreme convenience of traveling on the roads over the weekends, we (andrew & myself) have decided to look into car purchase. the hunt started last saturday when we went to see two cars (toyota corolla and toyota celica) with our friends, felix and yifan [please refer to the fishin postings for felix's identity. As for yifan, please wait for future postings as he just returned back to brizzie].

just to share our experience....

if you kids can remember, i was previously driving xiao yee's corolla... so the one which we saw was something close to that. it was a safe, family friendly, normal and very uninteresting ka. the seller was very dodgy and suspicious as he kept asking us if we had $$ to buy the car. feeling very uncomfortable, we went for a SHORT car drive and afterwhich, headed off in split seconds in fear that he might put out some weapons coz he had this weird turkish accent. -odd-... so this car is a no go just in case it might turn out to be one of those "Gone in 60 Seconds" cases....

Next, the Celica... it is quite a beauty. Definitely a love-at-first-sight for me. The body is electric blue.. pretty stylish and sporty. I'm sure it will be something that the younger ones will be keen in. a little history on this ka... the lady who owns this is a 50 plus lady. Very fit and has muscle.... all becoz she hits the gym often. Tough one! She wanted to have a sports car and shared this desire with her husband and WA-LA... her hubby got her one.... so cool right?!?!?! However, we needed to do some research on its history before we commit to the owner and the -SIGH- price....

we will see whats the next exciting move will be....

hi kids,

today's episode is on fishing.

On a very nice sunday morning (23 march 08), an undying group of "youngsters" proceeded to their mode of movement for the day's quest - FISHING. the boat was just a classic....

the above boat was impressive, wasn't it? But no.... it was not that one. In this story, we will teach the readers that everything else can be simple, as long as the company is gung ho and fun. May i present to you, THE boat!

Dont pray pray with this boat... it has cushioned seats, sink & cutting area, a bbq, a toilet and room for eight to roam on the boat.. hee hee

Let me first, introduce members of this fishing trip...

[top left: no need to introduce le la..... bottom left: robyn & zinesh.... bottom right: fran & merv (married couple - a little history. they got married just a day earlier than me and andrew. =D ).. and errrr... top right... errrr....: they look very "gay" in each other's "company" but they are absolutely "straight".. hahaha... tts felix and jimmy (who is also fran's bro)]

well, i must admit i am not very good at the fishing thing.... coz my only catch was only 5cm... sigh

andrew, on the other end, was luckier than me... his was (slightly) bigger.. hee hee

then we came to a point when the boat was stuck in the sand. very fortunately... we had 5 STRONG young chaps...... so they pushed....

and pushed... and pushed..... GRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!

of course, its not all hard and sweat work.... we had our little "scandal" act on boat too..... well, i wont say much... but the following picture will speak for itself...

Life in Brizzie is not too bad. Slow but comfortable.....

I have just shifted into my new place - spacious and cozy. Lotsa cleaning and unpacking to do over the past few days. Other than that, I met up with Drew's friends.... bunch of nice folks... really good company. They are fun, hilarious and basically good looking people too. hahaha... played mahjong with them and i literally made a fool of myself at most of the rounds. I guess that is what beginners have to go through.

anyway, the following are some pictures of my new place. the door is wide opened for your kids to come... so i'll be expecting you.

Departure is never easy

Everyone will have to go through some changes in their life.
Typically human beings are against changes.
Asking them to get out of their comfort zone is difficult.
It is never easy.

I have spent my life in such comfort since i was a baby.
By my grandparents, parents, aunts and siblings, never was the love and care compromised.
Yes, there were times when things were testing and difficult.
Despite of such, all were good times.

Always remember this
Bad times are meant to put you through difficulties so that you can be a better person, in terms of thinking, personality and etc.
Without bad times, you will never improve.

Good times are meant for remembrance.
Also, if you are "wounded" during the bad times, it is during such times, then you get to heal yourself amongst the presence of your loved ones e.g. your parents, siblings etc.

Now that I have to proceed onto my next journey, there are people that I need to leave behind for a while.

What's a better way to welcome the new year but by welcoming it with a BANG! We can take more pictures of us with the fireworks as the background. It would be lovely! Then we can continue with our usual games and fun afterwards. Castle green 481 is open. I've asked for permission and all already. So do vote if you like this suggestion too!

New Year's Eve + CM's Return

Dear all,

as you know, CM is finally COMING HOME!!!!! = ) and tt night happens to be on new year's eve. thus, i have a couple of suggestions... take a look and let me know how you feel. the fundamental tot i have is to be able to receive the NEW year with my siblings.

1) KTV

after CM's touch down @ around 9++ pm, we can head down to ktv. those who can sing, sing till NY comes... for those who cant, just bring along some card or board games.

2) Lentor
after CM's touch down @ around 9++ pm, we will dine at some hawker area and go back to lentor to talk cock sing song play mahjong. definitely amongst the rest, this is the most economical suggestion.

3) Fireworks along ECP
after CM's touch down @ around 9++ pm, we can have some ice cream, hang out in airport till 11+++pm. then drive up to ECP highway... so that we can watch the fireworks from the car. a little unusual but definitely worth considering too.

to hansom, please check if weiquan or kenny is keen to come along.

to the rest, i need feedbacks, suggestions, ideas etc etc. dont come up with something too fanciful... =)

2. A brief view of Xmas day.

Xmas day celebrations for the kids would start at 3pm in Castle green, Blk481, #05-10, S787056. Games and fun would start at 3pm onwards and end roughly around 8pm when the adults join us for supper and desserts that are kindly sponsored by them.

Dress code for kids: Red or green top
Things to bring for ALL adults and kids: Presents for your respective mystery person and gifts that you bought personally for the people you want to give. (eg: Parents? Siblings? Kids? Cats? Goldfish?)

I would update the itinery of the fun and games activity soon as xmas draws near. In the meantime, do check out this space regularly for updates. Cya!
